Context for study

The psalm calls all lands to joyful worship and describes the worshipers as God’s people and sheep. Verse 4 uses the image of entering gates and courts to gather thanksgiving, praise, and blessing into an approach to God. Its repeated actions follow the declaration of belonging in verse 3. Reading them together makes thanksgiving a response to the God who made and cares for his people.

A question to explore

What actions does verse 4 ask of the worshipers, and how does the description of belonging in verse 3 give those actions context?
